Bay runs away with Zarra to Mexico, but Emmett realizes what she is doing and tells the Kennishes before she gets too far. The trial continues in full force, but John and Emmett rush to stop Bay. When they find her, John convinces Bay to stay, but Zarra steals Bay’s money and slips away to Mexico. Daphne quits her job, but Jeff tells her that her actions are only making matters worse. And when Angelo learns about their relationship, he marches into Jeff's kitchen and punches him.

Back at the trial, the court awards Angelo five million dollars in the hearing, and the Kennishes win one dollar. Regina realizes she’s married to Angelo, so half that money is hers. Afterward, a pregnant woman comes into the court house looking for Angelo.

RecapEdit

This section needs more writing to complete the 30th episode.

Daphne is confronted by the restaurant owner about her involvement with Jeff, but she denies everything. Both of their jobs are in jeopardy. Bay has no plans on returning home anytime soon, but she calls on Toby for help when a street gang comes looking for Zarra. Kathryn is called up to testify for the other side of the case, as she stated in her book that the switch wasn't a completely bad event, since she got to know Bay. Daphne makes matters worse for herself and Jeff when she decides to quit her job so that she and him could be together without repercussions. Jeff doesn't feel the same way when Daphne declares her love for him and they break up.

Meanwhile, Bay and Zarra make a run for Mexico to meet up with Zarra's famous street artist father. She runs into Emmett right before she leaves her house and he picks up on her intentions. John and Emmett track Bay on her way to Mexico and find her sleeping in the back of her car at an abandoned parking lot in the middle of the night. After talking it out, John and Bay seem to be on better terms. When Bay tells Emmett that she can't believe he came all that way to find her, he tells her he will always come find her. She's clearly touched and for a moment it seems like they might kiss, but they are interrupted by John's car pulling up next to them.

When Angelo finds out that an older man had taken advantage of Daphne, he shows up at Maize and punches Jeff in the face. The outcome of the trial is determined: the Kennishes win the case, being awarded only $1, while Angelo also wins his case, receiving $5 million from the hospital. Toby points out to Regina that half of that money is legally hers now. When everyone has filed out of the courtroom, Daphne and Bay reminisce about their lives the day before they found out they were switched, mentioning how they must have seen each other before at a familiar pizza place. Then, an unknown pregnant woman walks into the courtroom asking for Angelo, causing Bay, and Daphne much confusion.

QuotesEdit

Daphne: Because that's the thing, the day before your life changes forever, it's just like any other day.

Toby: Well, congratulations.
Regina: What do you mean?

Toby: You're married to him. So half that money is legally yours.

Bay: What are we going to do?
John: I don't know. But I don't think we're going to figure it out in this parking lot.
Zarra: Hey! Get outta here! I got a knife!
John: God, I hope that's not true.

Bay: Dad?
Daphne: I know what that means. It means, "I don't love you back."
Bay: I kinda wanna meet Papa Zarra.
Regina: Why would I be supportive of you dating somebody so totally inappropriate?
Bay: Wow. They are always fighting with you to be parents with Daphne, but with me you just let them run the show.
Bay: Whatever you do, please do not tell mom and dad what just happened!
Toby: What? The Friday the 13th sequel that just happened?

TriviaEdit

  • This is the last episode of Season 1.
  • Maize is decorated in a pumpkin theme, Bay is seen carving pumpkins, and the Kennishes' house is decorated in Halloween decorations. This places the in-story dating around late October 2012, but it's unclear whether this is before or after the girls' seventeenth birthday.
